BaselineRTK

Terms and conditions

Last updated 30 September 2026. These terms apply to BaselineRTK's RTK correction service. Please read them before you start your free trial.

1. Who we are, and what you agree to

These terms are an agreement between BaselineRTK Pty Ltd, ABN 95 702 812 002 ("we", "us"), and the person or business that creates a BaselineRTK account ("you"). You agree to them when you create an account. If you create it for a business, you confirm you are allowed to agree to them for that business.

After the free trial, your subscription renews automatically each month or each year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time.

Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

2. The service

We send real-time kinematic (RTK) GNSS corrections to your rovers over the internet, using NTRIP and RTCM 3 messages.

Your rover connects to ntrip.baselinertk.com on port 2101. The mountpoints NEAREST_20 (GDA2020) and NEAREST_94 (GDA94) send corrections from the nearest working base station, chosen from the position your rover sends us, and move you to a nearer base as you travel. You can instead choose one base station by name, and we will not move you from it.

Most of our base station data comes from Geoscience Australia and its contributing partners. We adapt it before we send it: we select and convert its messages, and on the _94 mountpoints we publish each base station's position transformed to GDA94, calculated separately for each station.

The service does not include rovers, antennas or machine-control equipment, the internet connection or SIM card on your machine, setting up your equipment, network RTK or virtual reference stations, or survey or engineering advice.

Our coverage map is a guide, not a promise of results at a particular site. The free trial is the way to test the service where you work.

3. Your account and rover logins

  • You get one login for each rover you pay for. Each login is for one rover at a time: do not use it on more than one machine at once, or give it to anyone outside your business.
  • Your account allows one connection for each rover you pay for, plus one spare so that a rover can reconnect after a dropout.
  • New and reset rover passwords are shown to you once, in your account.
  • Keep your account password safe, and tell us straight away at support@baselinertk.com if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account and your rover logins.
  • A login is checked when a rover connects. If a login is turned off or its password is reset, a rover that is already connected keeps receiving corrections until it next disconnects.

4. Free trial

  • Your first subscription starts with a free trial of 14 days. There is one free trial for each business, and you do not need a card to start. Every rover gets the full service during the trial.
  • To carry on, add a card in Manage billing before the trial ends. Your first billing period starts, and is charged, when the trial ends.
  • If there is no card on your account when the trial ends, your corrections pause and nothing is charged.

5. Fees and billing

  • Fees are per rover, monthly or yearly, at the prices on our pricing page when you subscribe. We charge in advance at the start of each billing period, through Stripe, and your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. Your invoices are in Manage billing.
  • GST. BaselineRTK is not registered for GST. We do not charge GST, and our invoices are not tax invoices. If we register, we will email you at least 30 days before any change to what you pay.
  • Adding rovers is charged straight away for the rest of your current billing period. Removing rovers takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
  • Failed payments. If a payment fails, it is tried again over up to about two weeks, and your rovers keep receiving corrections while it is. If every attempt fails, your corrections stop until the overdue invoice is paid in Manage billing.
  • Price changes. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you. It applies from your first billing period after the notice ends. The price of a year you have already paid for does not change.

6. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time in Manage billing, or email support@baselinertk.com and we will cancel for you. There is no minimum term, no notice period and no cancellation fee. Cancelling stops your subscription renewing, and your rovers keep working until the end of the period you have paid for.

7. Refunds

  • Free trial. The 14-day trial is how you try the service before you pay. Nothing is charged during it.
  • Monthly plans. We do not refund part of a month. Cancel at any time and your rovers keep working to the end of the month you have paid for.
  • Yearly plans. If you cancel within 14 days of a yearly payment, whether your first or a renewal, we refund that payment in full. After 14 days we do not refund the rest of the year, and your rovers keep working until it ends.
  • If our service fails. If a fault on our side stops your corrections for more than 24 hours in a row, email us within 30 days and we will credit or refund the days affected. This does not cover a base station operator stopping its data, an internet or mobile network outage, or a problem with your equipment.
  • If we change prices or these terms. If we raise our prices or change these terms to your disadvantage, and you cancel before the change applies, we refund the unused whole months of any year you have paid for.
  • If we stop the service. We refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
  • To ask for a refund, email support@baselinertk.com. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 business days of our approving them.
  • None of this limits a refund or other remedy you are entitled to under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Using the service fairly

You may use the service for your own work and your business's work. You must not:

  • give a login to anyone outside your business, or use one login on more than one rover at once;
  • resell, rebroadcast, relay or redistribute our correction streams, for example by feeding them into another caster or network, or letting other people connect through your equipment;
  • try to get around logins, connection limits or any other control on the service;
  • try to disrupt, overload or break into the service, or interfere with other customers;
  • use the service for anything unlawful.

Set your rovers to wait between attempts when they reconnect after a dropout. A rover that reconnects in a rapid loop can disrupt the service for everyone, and we may suspend its login. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Creative Commons licence to Geoscience Australia's own data.

9. Availability and base stations

We work to keep the service running all day, every day, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted or never have a fault. We do maintenance at quiet times, and email notice of planned work when we can.

A base station can stop, or be taken out of service, at any time: its operator stops providing its data (Geoscience Australia may stop any stream without notice); our checks find the position it broadcasts has moved away from the position we accepted, and we take it out of service until it is checked again; it stops sending data or fails a check; or we change our network.

When your nearest base station is not available, we send corrections from the nearest one that is. It may be further away, and accuracy falls with distance. A switch to another base can briefly interrupt your fix, and a base that has been idle can take up to about 20 seconds to start. We never send corrections late: data that cannot reach your rover within about a second is dropped, which your rover sees as a short gap.

10. Accuracy, and your responsibility

RTK accuracy depends on things we do not control, including the distance to the base station; your rover, antenna, firmware and settings; its view of the sky and reflections around it; the atmosphere; and your mobile connection. You are responsible for:

  • choosing the mountpoint whose datum matches your design and site control;
  • your rover's settings, including its geoid model and any site calibration;
  • checking your results against known survey control before you rely on them: at the start of each job, regularly while you work, and whenever your rover changes base station or loses its fix;
  • not relying on a position your rover does not report as fixed;
  • deciding whether the service suits your use, especially where a wrong position could cause damage, loss or injury.

We check the position every base station broadcasts against the position we accepted for it, and take a base out of service if it moves beyond a small tolerance. That check helps, but it does not replace your own.

11. Geoscience Australia data

This product uses data sourced from Geoscience Australia under CC-By-Licence. Our base station data is sourced from Geoscience Australia and its contributing partners, and adapted by BaselineRTK. It is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, which includes a disclaimer of warranties. Geoscience Australia provides its data as it is, may stop providing it without notice, and does not guarantee the accuracy you can achieve with it. Geoscience Australia and its partners are not parties to these terms, do not endorse BaselineRTK, and are not responsible for our service.

12. Our liability

Our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, including that we will supply them with due care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes those rights.

Our service is not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use. So, where the law allows it and it is fair and reasonable, if we fail to meet a consumer guarantee our liability is limited to supplying the service again, or paying the cost of having it supplied again, for example by crediting or refunding the fees for the affected period.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as a base station operator stopping or changing its data, a failure of the internet or a mobile network, or a fault in your equipment or its settings; and our total liability for all claims arising in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in those 12 months.

13. Suspension and ending the agreement

  • We may suspend a login or your account straight away if that is needed to stop harm to the service or to other customers, for example a login reconnecting in a rapid loop or used on several machines at once. We will tell you why, and restore access once the problem is fixed.
  • If you break these terms in any other way, we will tell you what needs fixing and give you 7 days to fix it before we suspend anything.
  • We may end your subscription if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and will tell you why in writing.
  • If we decide to stop providing the service altogether, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.

14. Changes to these terms

For a change that does not disadvantage you, such as a correction or clearer wording, we publish the new terms here with the date they take effect. For any other change, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not accept it, cancel before it takes effect, and section 7 applies.

15. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information, including the positions your rovers send us to choose a base station.

16. Contact, notices and disputes

We send notices to the email address you sign in with. You can reach us at support@baselinertk.com. If you have a problem with the service, email us first and we will reply within 5 business days. This does not stop you contacting Consumer Affairs Victoria or the ACCC.

These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia. If part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. You may not transfer your account to someone else without our agreement.
